Role and Responsibilities
Undertake activities with children and provide a stimulating environment through play and other activities.
Supporting children at meal times and in preparing a healthy snack for them, supporting children with personal care.
Supervising children at all times to ensure a safe and secure environment and providing an appropriate level of care with regard to their social, emotional and physical needs.
Assisting in the maintenance of equipment by reporting any damage, undertaking supplementary cleaning and, where possible, carrying out minor repair of toys.
Actively promoting ant-discrimination practices and the schools Equal Opportunities Policy in all aspects of employment and service delivery.
The postholder will have responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons they are responsible for, or comes into contact with. And is responsible for passing on any relevant information to a senior member of staff.
Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of the staff team. Participate in training and staff development activities.
Undertake all training linked to the Apprentice role.

Required Skills
Previous experience with children under the age of 5 which could be in a working environment or family or personal
Required Qualifications
Maths, English and ICT, GCSE Grade 4 to 9 or equivalent.
Training
Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
Maths and English Level 2 if not already achieved.
Appts with apprentice, employer and provider, observations of workplace as well as gathering evidence.
Undertake self assessment in last month of apprenticeship. The self-assessment must be submitted to the end point assessor as a source of evidence to prepare for End Point Assessment which will include a showcase portfolio, a project, employer reference and interview about the portfolio and project.
Prospects
The possibility of being employed as a childcare worker at the end of training.
