Business Administrator (Project Management Dept)

Overview

This role is aimed at individuals who have an interest in progressing a career as a Project Manager within the catering and hospitality industry. The successful candidate will initially support the project team in an administrational capacity but will also shadow the project managers, both internally and externally to gain on-the-job training /experience of project management.

Role and Responsibilities

· Communicating with suppliers/clients via email/phone.

· Taking instructions from colleagues over email and telephone.

· Preparing Risk Assessment & Method Statement documents.

· Managing and updating live works planner.

· Preparing engineers work packs.

· Checking in completed site documentation.

· Updating project information on cloud-based management system.

· Attending live sites with project manager to survey and monitor progress.

· Organising deliveries and attendance of sub-contract labour.

Required Qualifications

Maths, English and ICT, GCSE Grade 4-9 or equivalent

Training

· Maths and English to Level 2 required, if not already achieved

· Knowledge, Skills and Behaviour in relation to:

o customer service principles and practices

o business principles

o technical competencies

o knowledge and understating

o research activities

o commercial awareness

o managing challenging situations and taking ownership

o health and safety

· Ongoing assessment by the employer and provider – for example meetings with apprentice, employer and learning provider, observations of workplace, gathering evidence.

Undertake a self-assessment in the last month of their apprenticeship to enable them to see whether they are confident that they have taken on board all aspects of the occupation. This self-assessment must be submitted to the independent end point assessor as a source of evidence to prepare for independent End Point Assessment which will include a showcase portfolio; a project; an employer reference and a structured interview about their portfolio and project.
