Three members of the learningSkills team have ran the Virtual Great North Run to raise money for charity.

Although the 40th Great North Run was cancelled this year due to coronavirus, Nicola McDougal, Claire Law and Hannah Wood ran 13.1 miles on Sunday using the the Virtual Great North Run smartphone app. They raised over £2000 for Heel and Toe – A charity that helps children with disabilities.

Julie Bond, their line manager, stated ‘My heart is bursting with pride’.

Heel and Toe support Julie’s grandson Arthur, who has Prader-Willi Syndrome, with physiotherapy, speech and language therapy and cognitive play therapy. The work they have done has resulted in a huge leap in Arthur’s development since they started working with him. Arthur was at the finish line to present the runners with their medals.

Well done to Claire, Hannah and Nicola from everyone a learningSkills. A fantastic result!
