Role and Responsibilities
- Summaries medical records.
- Deduction requests requested by Primary Care Services England.
- Prepare records via IGPR Application Software.
- Ensure all requests for photocopying are carried out in a timely manner.
- Shred confidential information on a regular basis.
- Monitor workflow inboxes, manage online prescriptions and e-consult request.
- Open and distribute incoming mail daily.
- Always observe health and safety guidelines.
- Any other reasonable duties that may be required from time to time.
- Scan Hospital Report and other third-party provider.
- Re-Stock GP rooms.
- Telephone Duties
- Deal with All general telephone enquiries, triage and sign-post patients to appropriate service.
- Taking requests for prescriptions order over the telephone dealing with all enquiries prepare electronic repeat prescriptions request.
- Relaying results to patient once actioned by GP.
- Deal with referral pathways to Recovery at Home, District Nursing Teams, MDT Coordinators, Pharmacies and Social Prescribers.
- Home visit requests.
- Deal with general enquiries and complaints.
- Contacting and liaising with other third-party providers.
- Reception Duties
- Register new patients and temporary residents.
- Greet and meet direct patients and visitors to sigh post them to appropriate Health Care Professional or staff members.
- Making appointments.
- Handing out prescriptions and fit notes.
- Ensure outstanding queries are explained and handed over to the next shift, as necessary.
- Respond to needs of doctors and nurses during surgery.
- Collect payments from patients for non-NHS services.
- Deal with general enquiries and complaints.
- Filing empty Lloyd George envelopes and New Patient records received from Health Authority.
- Prescriptions
- Dealing with requests from repeat prescriptions and prepare prescription for Electronic prescribing.
- Raising prescriptions as per practice protocols.
- Dealing with queries relating to repeat prescriptions.
- General
- Input and extract information from Practice computer system ensuring accuracy.
- Always observe health and safety guidelines.
- General housekeeping (e.g keeping reception and waiting areas tidy).
- Make refreshments for doctors and other team members, participate in washing up.
- Any other reasonable duties as necessary.

Required Qualifications
Maths and English, GCSE Grade 4-9 or equivalent.
Training
Business admin level 3 apprenticeship
· Maths and English to Level 2 required, if not already achieved
· Ongoing assessment by the employer and provider – for example meetings with apprentice, employer and learning provider, observations of workplace, gathering evidence
· Knowledge, Skills and Behaviour in relation to: customer service principles and practices, planning, regulation, responsibility and IT, business principles, customer communication and health and safety.
Undertake a self-assessment in the last month of their apprenticeship to enable them to see whether they are confident that they have taken on board all aspects of the occupation. This self-assessment must be submitted to the independent end point assessor as a source of evidence to prepare for independent End Point Assessment which will include multiple choice assessment; showcase portfolio of learning and interview; presentation of a project
