Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard Level 3

Would you like to work with children and young people in a school or educational setting? Being a Teaching Assistant can make a difference to a child’s life by enhancing their learning, building their confidence, self-belief and resilience.

Course Structure

Being a Teaching Assistant is an active role where you will be involved in all aspects of daily classroom life, including supporting the teaching and learning of pupils, encouraging positive behaviour management and promoting equality, diversity and inclusion. During your apprenticeship you will have to demonstrate knowledge, skills and behaviours such as:

  • understanding how pupils learn and develop
  • understand and support assessment for learning
  • keep children safe
  • develop support strategies
  • communication and team work
  • build relationships
  • professional standards and personal accountability

You will do this by a variety of on and off the job training. This course consists of workbased observations, classroom and written work.
