Role and Responsibilities
You will be split between two departments and complete a secretarial role as well as a prescriptions role during this apprenticeship.
Secretarial role:
· Office duties.
· Arranging hospital appointments.
· Checking and processing emails.
· Dealing with internal tasks daily.
· Typing referrals.
· Adding data/information onto patient's medical records.
· Dealing with patient and hospital enquiries over the telephone.
· Checking referral worklists.
· Dealing with hospital documents coming into the practice.
· Assist with IT projects and issues.
Prescription Role:
· Office duties.
· Answer telephone calls from patients, hospitals, and pharmacies.
· Issue medication.
· Checking and process emails.
· Liaise with pharmacies, GP's.
· Maintain a daily diary.
· Respond promptly and politely to tasks.
· Contacting other practices for information where indicated.

Required Qualifications
Maths, English and ICT, GCSE Grade 4-9 or equivalent
Training
- Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship.
- Maths & English level 2 if not already achieved.
- Appts with apprentice, employer & provider, observations of workplace as well as gathering evidence.
- Undertake self-assessment in last month of apprenticeship. The self-assessment must be submitted to the end point assessor as a source of evidence to prepare for End Point Assessment which will include a showcase portfolio; a project, employer reference & interview about the portfolio and project.
