Level 1 and 2 Certificate in Stained and Fused Glass
This is a Level 1 or 2 accredited course in glass. During this course you will develop and demonstrate a good knowledge technical skill in the use of a full range of glass techniques. These will include design and development of ideas, creative and innovative use of traditional glass-working techniques. Four Saturdays this term 20 April, 11 May, 1 June and 29 June 2024. Four other dates TBC for this course.

What is the Programme Content?
This course covers different units which may include: Craft techniques, materials, tools and equipment Develop craft ideas Explore commercial craft briefs Produce heritage and traditional craftwork in response to a commercial craft brief Following experimentation with media and materials you will produce a set of work in response to a real or simulated project brief. The course comprises of practical demonstrations looking at new techniques individual practical work and development of ideas Regular 1.1 tutorials and reviews Regular written feedback and self evaluation
Who is it for?
Learners who have attended a previous course in stained or fused glass and would like to further develop these skills.
What prior experience and knowledge do I need?
Experience of working with glass and developing original design work.
What materials or equipment do I need to provide?
Basic stained glass tools and consumable materials; glass, solder, lead etc. File for collating work.
What materials or equipment do we provide to you?
Larger glass working tools, grinder, soldering irons, kiln etc. iPads and various IT resources.
How will I be assessed?
Ongoing assessment throughout the course and written feedback and evaluation at the end of each unit.
