PLEASE NOTE: Due to restrictions on funding from NTCA learners from the North of Tyne Authority postcodes will need to pay the full cost of programmes at the time of enrolling which will be more than the price quoted in the online directory. This will equate to £6.50 per hour of learning with no concessions available in regard to age or employment status.

What is the Programme Content?

You will using your own images in the creation of your lino prints. Through the course, you will learn to choose printable images and transfer them onto lino. You will experiment with lino tools to investigate the marks created by the medium and apply your knowledge to create lino prints.

If you are interested in printmaking and have experience with art, then this course is for you.

What prior experience and knowledge do I need?

You need some experience with image making to access this course.

What materials or equipment do I need to provide?

You will need printmaking papers, inks, tools and lino suitable for linocut. Once you have registered, you will be given support choosing the materials you need.

You will be provided with everything else to complete the course.

How will I be assessed?

You will set targets at the beginning of the course related to what you would like to achieve. Your tutor will work with you to develop your skills and knowledge. By the end of the course, you will have developed your confidence with printmaking as well as your knowledge of linocut and how to use it with your own ideas.

What can I do next?

After completing the course, you may wish to explore other printmaking techniques at the Interchange Centre or join an art group, where you could experiment with your new skills in linocut, creating works of art to exhibit in Gateshead.
